Mercallite, the mineralogical form of potassium bisulfate, occurs very rarely. Misenite is the other, more complex, potassium hydrogen sulfate. ==Preparation== Potassium bisulfate is prepared by the reaction between sulfuric acid and potassium carbonate. Carbon dioxide gas is produced as a by-product.
